Anura 3D Workshop

INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the in-person Anura3D MPM Workshop, organized by the Anura3D MPM Research Community. It will be held in Barcelona, hosted by Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), from January 30th to January 31st, 2025.

Anura3D is an open-source code based on the Material Point Method, developed for advanced numerical modelling of large deformations and soil-water-structure interaction problems. Its application fields include in geotechnical engineering, among others, embankments, earth dams, landslides, soil excavation, impact and penetration problems in saturated and unsaturated soils.

The workshop aims to:

  • Bring the Anura3D Community together including users and developers
  • Solicit feedback from users, facilitate networking and encourage collaborations
  • Attract new users from academia and industry by showing the capabilities of Anura3D
  • Attract new developers by teaching how to use the Anura3D code
  • Provide a platform to present advanced applications and new developments

Sessions of the Workshop

The event will be organized into:

  • Podium sessions including presentations on applications and new developments in MPM
  • Interactive sessions to facilitate discussions on specific topics between participants and developers

The event is open to students, postdoctoral researchers, faculty, as well as industry professionals. We welcome abstract submissions on applications and new developments in MPM addressed to improve, validate and show the capabilities of Anura3D. Accepted abstracts will be presented as oral presentations during the workshop.

Training course

A training course will be offered for both users and developers.
The course is addressed to workshop attendees with an additional registration fee.

We very much look forward to seeing you in Barcelona next year!
