This work aims to make a small step towards understanding the effect volumetric locking has on the impact of a Portable Free Fall Penetrometer (PFFP) into a soil modelled using a Mohr-Coulomb strain softening formulation. To help reduce the amount of volumetric locking, the B-Bar technique presented by Hughes (1980) was implemented for quadrilateral elements. References [1] HUGHES, T. J. R. (1980).
